Turn on notifications.
Most missed tasks and broken streaks come down to one thing: nobody saw the notification, because it never had a chance to arrive. Here's why - and exactly how to fix it in a couple of minutes.
📵 Why nothing showed up
Browsers only deliver push notifications reliably to an installed app - a tab you left open in Safari or Chrome can be silently killed by the phone at any time, and its notifications go with it. Installing Tracker to your Home Screen turns it into a real app that keeps working in the background, exactly like any other app you've downloaded.
The good news: it takes under a minute, costs nothing, and doesn't use an app store - it installs straight from this website.
📲 Install & enable - step by step
The guide below already knows what device you're on. Android gets a one-tap install button right here; iPhone/iPad needs three taps in Safari (Apple doesn't allow one-click installs, so this is the fastest path there is).
NOTIFICATION SETUP

- Open the tracker in Safari.

Requires iOS/iPadOS 16.4 or newer.

DEVICE NOTIFICATIONS
Let Alpha reach you.
Enable notifications on this browser. A test push will arrive immediately.
🔧 Still not arriving?
- Check the OS-level switch too. Allowing notifications inside the browser isn't enough on its own - your phone or computer also needs Tracker enabled in its own notification settings (Windows Settings, macOS System Settings, or your phone's app notification list).
- Turn off Do Not Disturb / Focus mode while you test - it silently blocks the test notification even when everything else is set up correctly.
- On iPhone, notifications only work once Tracker is opened from the Home Screen icon - opening tracker.kinkylocked.com in a normal Safari tab afterward won't receive them.
- Reinstalled or switched phones? Just repeat the steps above on the new device - each install needs to enable notifications on its own.
🎚️ Choose exactly what you get notified about
Once notifications are on, you can fine-tune them - separate switches for task orders, likes & comments, direct messages, and e-mail digests - in Settings → Notifications.
